Sure, it’s a beautiful Mediterranean island, having a truly enviable climate and being home to friendly, industrious people. But why should you choose Malta as a base for your business?

Malta has a unique geographical benefit in that it’s positioned between two worlds. On one side we have Europe, an established, enterprising region with a huge diversity of cultures and values. On the other we have Africa, a huge resource of emerging countries, amazing richness and a hunger for growth and development.

As well as a “friendly” tax infrastructure and a thoroughly modern legislative system, the diversity in industry and outlook in Malta is unlike anywhere else. We always have an eye to the future, which is why we’re constantly growing and developing.

Our financial sectors are one of the most modern in the world. The Malta Financial Services Authority is proving very effective and our tax laws are designed to attract investment from across the world.

Geography and climate

The Republic of Malta is a group of islands located 93km off the island of Sicily and 288km east of Tunisia. The islands are made up of Malta, Gozo and Comino and are surrounded by the azure blue Mediterranean sea.

We have hot, dry summers and mild winters with average rainfall appearing between October and March. It’s the perfect climate for work, rest and play.

Maltese Culture

Malta has an exceptionally rich and diverse culture. Having been settled by Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantines and Europeans among others, our culture reflects all of them. Despite all those influences, Malta definitely has an identity all of its own. It’s an identity we’re proud of and one that evolves as we grow and diversify. Our population includes a lot of immigrants, but also many locals. We work well together, bringing the best of our diverse cultures together in harmony.

Maltese Language

The Maltese language is an ancient one comprised of Italian and Arabic with a sprinkle of French, German and a healthy dose of English influence. English is also an official language of Malta.
